Neck Lines and Loose Neck Skin: Can Program RedTouch Pro Help? | Reva Clinic
Can Program RedTouch Pro improve neck lines and loose neck skin? Learn how the 675 nm laser supports collagen remodeling and what research on neck skin shows.

Enlarged pores are one of the most common skin concerns, particularly around the nose, inner cheeks, and T-zone. Many patients therefore begin with the same question:
“Which laser should I use to make my pores smaller?”
But before choosing a laser or device, there is a more important question:
Why do your pores look enlarged in the first place?
Visible pores do not have a single cause. In some people, they become more noticeable as collagen and skin elasticity decline. In others, excess sebum is the main issue. And sometimes what appears to be dark, prominent pores is partly caused by visible facial hair.
This is why the right treatment may be completely different from one person to another.
Pores are a normal part of the skin and cannot be permanently “closed” or completely removed.
Enlarged or more visible pores may be associated with reduced collagen and skin elasticity, excess sebum, or dark facial hair.
When the main concern is declining skin quality and collagen, Program RedTouch Pro may be considered as part of a treatment plan targeting collagen remodeling and skin texture.
When excess oil is the main contributor, controlling sebum may be more relevant than focusing on collagen alone.
When dark facial hair makes pores appear more prominent, laser hair removal may help improve the overall appearance of the skin.
The first step in treating enlarged pores should therefore be identifying the cause before choosing the treatment.
The first thing to understand is that Program RedTouch Pro does not literally close pores.
Pores are normal anatomical structures of the skin. The goal is therefore not to make them disappear, but to address some of the factors that make them appear larger or more noticeable.
Program RedTouch Pro uses a 675 nm laser, with collagen remodeling and skin quality among its primary treatment targets. Histological research following 675 nm laser treatment has demonstrated newly formed collagen fibers within treated tissue, supporting its role in collagen remodeling.

For someone whose pores appear more prominent alongside reduced skin firmness or uneven texture, the aim is therefore to improve the quality and supporting structure of the skin around the pores, rather than trying to “close” the pores themselves.

In reality, more than one factor may be present at the same time. However, for practical purposes, we can divide common causes into three main groups.

As we age, collagen structure and skin elasticity gradually change. Skin that was once firm and well supported can become less resilient, making pores—particularly those on the cheeks—appear more prominent.
Patients in this group do not necessarily have very oily skin or significant comedones. Instead, they may notice that their pores become more visible at the same time as other changes such as uneven skin texture, fine lines, or early loss of skin firmness.
If this is the main reason the pores appear larger, treatment should focus more on skin quality and collagen remodeling.
Program RedTouch Pro uses a 675 nm laser with clinical evidence supporting its role in collagen remodeling and skin rejuvenation.
At Reva Clinic, we use our MOVE + STAMP + SPOT approach rather than treating every area of the face in exactly the same way.
For patients with visible pores and uneven texture, MOVE forms part of the approach to overall skin quality, while STAMP allows the physician to place additional emphasis on areas where enlarged pores or uneven texture are more noticeable.
The concept is not:
“Laser the pore until it disappears.”
Instead, it is:
Improve the quality and collagen structure of the skin around the pore so that the overall texture appears smoother and more refined.
The treatment design can therefore vary even when two patients are using the same device.
Another common group is patients with high sebum production.
They may notice that their skin becomes oily quickly throughout the day, particularly around the nose, forehead, and inner cheeks. Visible pores may also occur alongside comedones or acne-prone skin.
Although the pores may look similar to those in the first group, the underlying problem is different.
If excess sebum is a major contributor, stimulating collagen alone may not address the main reason the pores appear prominent.
At Reva Clinic, Program Oli Control may be considered for patients whose main concern is excess oil and sebum production. The physician first assesses how much oiliness is contributing to the appearance of the pores before recommending treatment.
The principle is straightforward:
If excess oil is making the pores look larger, we should address the oil as well—not only the collagen.
Some patients, of course, have both excess sebum and declining skin quality. In these cases, the treatment plan may need to address both factors rather than choosing one or the other.
Another factor that is often overlooked is facial hair.
Some patients do not actually have very large pores. Instead, they have relatively dark or visible hairs growing from the follicles, particularly around the cheeks, upper lip, beard area, nose, or jawline.
From a normal viewing distance, these numerous dark points can make the skin appear less refined and may be mistaken for enlarged or dark pores.
If facial hair is a significant part of the problem, stimulating collagen or reducing sebum does not directly address the cause.
In these cases, Program Laser Hair Removal may be more appropriate because the treatment is targeting the hair itself.
As the amount or thickness of dark hair decreases, the skin may appear smoother and more even—even though the anatomical pores themselves have not disappeared.
In reality, enlarged pores are often caused by more than one factor. Some people may have oily skin together with early loss of skin firmness, while others may have a combination of comedones, acne scars, and dark facial hair that makes the pores in the same area appear even more noticeable.
This is why we need to look at the skin as a whole, including oiliness, skin quality and firmness, facial hair, comedones, acne scars, and uneven skin texture.
So even if two patients come in with the same concern — “I want my pores to look smaller” — the appropriate treatment may be completely different after examining their skin. One person may benefit more from collagen stimulation, while another may need to focus on controlling excess sebum or reducing facial hair first.
Treating enlarged pores should therefore not begin with choosing a device. It should begin with understanding what is actually making the pores look more noticeable.
Program RedTouch Pro may be considered when visible pores are associated with reduced skin quality, collagen changes, and uneven skin texture, particularly when enlarged pores occur together with concerns such as:
Uneven or rough skin texture
Fine lines
Early signs of skin aging
Reduced skin firmness
Atrophic acne scars
In these cases, the goal of Program RedTouch Pro is not to make the pores disappear, but to improve skin quality and the collagen structure around the pores, helping the overall skin texture appear smoother and more refined.
At Reva Clinic, treatment can be personalized using MOVE + STAMP. MOVE focuses on overall skin quality, while STAMP allows the physician to place greater emphasis on areas where enlarged pores or uneven texture are more noticeable. You can learn more about our approach in Program RedTouch Pro 3 Modes at Reva Clinic.
For patients who also have acne scars, it is important to distinguish between enlarged pores and true atrophic scars. Although they may look similar in some areas, particularly on the cheeks, their underlying structures and treatment approaches can be different.

The number of sessions should not be determined by the words “enlarged pores” alone.
It depends on why the pores are visible, the severity of the problem, age, baseline skin quality, other accompanying concerns, and the patient's treatment goals.
Collagen remodeling also takes time, so results should not be judged only a few days after treatment.
At Reva Clinic, the physician first assesses the skin before determining the appropriate number of sessions, treatment interval, and how MOVE + STAMP + SPOT should be designed for the individual patient.

There is no single treatment that works for every case of enlarged pores, because what makes pores look more noticeable can vary from person to person.
If the main issue is reduced collagen and skin firmness, Program RedTouch Pro may be considered to help improve overall skin quality and texture. If excess sebum and oily skin are the main factors, Program Oli Control may be more appropriate. For some patients, what appears to be dark, enlarged pores may actually be related to dark facial hair, in which case Program Laser Hair Removal may be a better option.
In many cases, there is more than one contributing factor. A patient may have changes in collagen, excess oil, and visible facial hair at the same time. This is why the skin should be properly assessed before planning treatment.
The goal is not simply to choose a device, but to understand what is making the pores look more noticeable and select a treatment that addresses the actual cause.
